Lymphocytes are agranulocytes and the smallest of the leukocytes (just larger than a red blood cell). Their nucleus takes up most of their volume and typically a thinn sliver of cytoplasm can be sen. Lymphocytes are also the second most abundant of the leukocytes (with the monocytes being the third).
