Pancreas

In an earlier lab, we learned about the islets of Langerhans which produce insulin and glucagon. However, pancreatic serosal cells, found in clusters called acini, are more common in the pancreas. These produce bicarbonate ions and digestive enzymes that are secreted into the main and accessory pancreatic ducts and into the duodenum via the major and minor duodenal papilla.

These pictures were taken by bio 139 students in the spring of 2018 and fall of 2019. Scroll through the pictures and compare them with the labeled picture. Select one and draw it.
