, lymph nodules are found in the small intestines, large intestines, appendix, and even the esophagus. However, lymph nodules are especially common in your ileum where they are referred to as peyer's patches. Peyer's patches are found between the epithelial layer, which is called the mucosa, and the muscular layer, which is called the muscularis, in a layer called the submucosal. Similar to the nodules in the lymph node, you can see in the picture to the left the 2 different tissues within the peyer's patches. The T cells are on the outside while the B cells are inside (called the germinal center).
