Lymph Histology | Histology Home Page | Site Home Page

Lymph vessels are composed of simple squamous epithelium surrounded by connective tissue so that the lymph cannot escape. However, they are said to resemble small thin veins because lymphatic vessels have valves which prevent backflow. Lymph vessels are commonly found close to arteries and veins. However, lymphatic vessels are distinguishable because they lack the tunica media.
