Supporting Connective Tissue Histology

Bone and cartilage are considered supporting connective tissues. Supporting connective tissues provide a framework that other tissues. For instance, bone supports muscle while rings of cartilage support the tracheal. The cells off supporting connective tissue are all trapped in chambers called lacuna.
