Epithlial cells


Epithelial cells will always have a free surface at their apex. They typically will line tubes and the apex will face the inside of the tube and the center of the tube called the lumen. To bottom side of the cell is called the base and it is attached to something called a basement membrane.

We will look at the the different types of epithelial cells in the next lab. For now, the idea is to look at examples of epithelial cells. These pictures were take by students in either the fall of 2023 or the spring of 2023. Most of the images are labeled
