Cardiac Muscle
Cardiac muscletend to have long fibrous cells with multiple nuclei.
Cardiac muscle is only found in the heart and is similar to skeletal muscle in that it is also striated with light actin bands and dark myosin bands. However, the cells are short and branched fibers normally with a single central nucleus. The cells of cardiac muscle are connected to each other by intercalated discs which anchor the cells to each other with desmosomes and allows calcium to be able to flow between cells via gap junctions.
